I dont want to sound like a jerk honestly.

but, Why Did You Capitalize Every Word?

A few things to chew on...

A: Diamond is not out

B: The Iphone is not a PPC, thus it's somewhat locked down, and all the apps you see here cannot be used on the Iphone.

C: Use the search on top of the page, please.

D: You posted on a Vogue board, you'll get biased answers of course.

yeah...but in all reality...the iPhone is mostly smoke and mirrors. Dont believe the hype. Its a form over function type of thing...and quite frankly...I like the Diamonds form soooooooo........not much competition for me personally. WM FTW!!!!

I have used the iphone and it's a very slick interface for a first gen. product, I predict 3rd or 4th gen product will be fantastic. As soon as ATT looses it's lock on this phone and carriers begin to subsidize it to the 200 range I will seriously consider it.

All that Iphone can offer is a smooth interface. That's all. Everything else goes to ppc. From functionality, customization to apps, hacks, mods etc. 1 more thing an iphone will never give you is the phone as modem feature. Connect your lappy to the internet wherever you are. That's the final nail on the iphone coffin my friend.

The iPhone 2.0 update in June will have some improved features. With opening up 3rd party development, you can bet there will be some awesome applications that will be developed for iPhone. One of the new features is the App Store where one can go and download new apps for the phone. The AT&T 3G network will provide fast speeds too and that is coming very soon. I didn't buy an iPhone because of the lack of certain features but that may not be the case in the near future. Here's some links to check out:

That's all well and good, but the entire experience is dictated by Apple. Microsoft, for all their faults, doesn't dictate the experience, so it's left to the discretion of the OEMs. Don't like Sprint's setup? No problem, try Verizon's, and vice versa. Don't like any of the OEM setups? No problem, try your own by installing pretty much any app available.

I find it amusing that so many people try to replicate the iPhone experience on WM phones. I wonder if the same will hold true when iPhone opens up-- will users there try to mimic the WM experiences (like HTC Home and SPB Mobile Shell)?

Anyway, here's the thing about the iPhone-- the UI and the web browser are nice. That's it. Everything else about it has existed in better forms for years, and they leave out lots of basic functions like Copy and Paste and the \ key. And even the UI and browser experiences are going to leave a lot to be desired if you try out the aforementioned SPB Mobile Shell and Opera 9.5.
