ppc-6700 vs ppc-6800?
i currently have a ppc-6700 to which i use the kitchen, however ive latly ive been jonesing for a few key upgrades:
1) I lost the lottery in the bluetooth radios, so i cant pair my phone with my A2DP headset. (skip skip skip) 2) I hate that the 6700 doesnt have gps, nor does the cellular location work with google maps mobile. I guess my question to those of you who had the 6700 and upgraded to the 6800 is; do you regret it? or are you loving the hell out of it? (and why) bonus round: Is the 6800 kitchen as functional as the 6700 kitchen? -Tendrid |
Re: ppc-6700 vs ppc-6800?
Try a different set of BT headphones. My 6700 would only work with 3 out of 4 of my headphones.
I miss the speed of wm5, the solidness of the 6700, the power button on the top, a separate audio plug, and the keyboard sliding out the correct side, but thats about it. But the speakers & mic on the 6800 make for such a better _phone_ that I could never go back to the 6700. it was so bad that I would not answer calls if I did not have my BT headset handy. |
Re: ppc-6700 vs ppc-6800?
I upgraded from the PPC 6700 and I would not go back. The 6800 is smaller and easier to carry, the battery lasts longer, WM6 is worth the upgrade and the GPS is invaluable.

Ive had lots of issues with my 6700 being buggy. is there less bug-nonsense with the 6800? (keep in mind im pulling it out of the box, and flashing it with the kitchen right away)

Re: ppc-6700 vs ppc-6800?
As a long time 6700 user (over 16 months) I made the switch a few months ago and never looked back. Bottom line it is just a better device.
(size, GPS, keyboard, etc) . The 6700 is still a competent phone but it's beginning to show it's age and isn't really in the 6800/6900's league anymore, esp with the GPS feature. The only thing I miss on my 6700 is the ability to use novii remote. (doesn't work on the 6800 and probably never will). I definitely don't miss that antenna on the 6700! |

But it you use BT headphones/headset it's not really that big of on issue. The Kitchen really extended the life of the 6700.. but now that the kitchen development of the 6800/6900 have caught up, it's no contest anymore. |
