Hopefully your already have a spare AT&T account and have the grandfathered unlimited data plan or expect to pay much, much more for service and a capped data plan. Also you know that the phone is shipping with Android 1.6 at release when 3.0 is expected to drop by years end. Don't forget that many current highend apps/games require Android 2.x just to run on.

How many upgrades do you think Dell is going to offer? At least if the phone shipped with 2.1 or 2.2 there's a chance it'll see 3.0, but I doubt that any manufacturer will bring a phone through this many upgrades. Whenever it finally sees Froyo then that's probably the last official update you'll see from Dell.

Actually, my buddy has an extra line on his Unlimited Data Plan that I am taking over (splitting it into two accounts). Plus with working for them I get a nice little discount on my plans (and from my promotion I can get discounts on hardware).

Yes, I am aware that it is going to ship with 1.6 (as of now), I am also aware that they plan to have a 2.1 or 2.2 update available shortly after launch (and yes, I do believe they will, as I have said, I have 100% faith in dell).

Also, I will still have my Sprint family plan (moms plan, with me, my brother, and 2 other family members) until 09/14/2011, so I will still have Sprint as well, and I may even extend that one once it is up based on what HTC phones sprint has to offer at that point in time.

Anyway, Yes, I do know what I am doing, and basically as long as I am happy that is all that counts, as I am going to be the one with the phone(s).

What will be better then having a Dell Streak in one hand and the Rhodium in the other? (Oh, until that Rhodium becomes either an Evo or whatever it is that replaces the Evo, as I won't go to WP7, F that noise)

No it doesn't, but mapquest for iphone does and that is free as well. I know bing has voice turn by turn for WM and is supposed to get there on other OS eventually. I don't even really care for the voice. I find it pretty annoying when you're trying to listen to the radio or talk with the other people in the car. I like the map sitting there all quiet like some kind of stealth HUD. I do find it funny when the nav voice says John D. Dingle Drive, which is a road at the Detroit airport. If you're ever near it, check it out.

Hopefully Dell isn't using black market parts in their phones like their desktop counterparts occasionally get. I bought 100 Dell Optiplex GX270s a few years back and in 72 of them, the capacitors all around the CPU swelled up and leaked electrolytic gel and all within 37 days of each other, right after, the 1 year warranty expired.

Be this as it may, I'd still like to hear after you get the phone how it holds up and when Android 2.2 is finally released for it.

The iPhone4 definitely has the best screen by FAR. I really hate the Pentile display in many android phones, and AMOLED is too blue/purple for my taste, and over saturated.

Iphone may not be the best phone, as if your requirements can be fulfilled in some other phone, then you will find that phone best compared to the iphone. There are also some phones which can be taken as alternative to iphone.
HTC Incredible
HTC HD2
myTouch 3G Slide

I have never owned and apple product lol the last time I used an apple product was in 3rd grade I think. Obviously it was a computer anyway I used it to print a banner and to play a game lol. Apple has just never turned me on. I like the iPhone and its great but it never came to Sprint and honestly if it did now I probably still wouldnt get it just because I love my Evo. The Evo is possibly the best phone I have ever owned. I can only hope the next phone has all that the evo has and then some more. I am also hoping the iPhone doesnt come to Sprint. Well at least not until it goes to verizon. I dont want my 3g shuting down lol. The iPhone is over hyped but thats not to say its not a great phone.

Honestly, if att hasnt screwed the data plans, i would have jumped to the iphone 4 myself. I liked the fact that its 1 phone per year and so much dev support making it a good ecosystem to be faithful to (besides the restrictions, but thats what jailbreaking is for)

Im the kind of guy that constantly changes devices and looks over his shoulder when something new is announced, so i get tired of that and want to stick to one device for at least a year till a upgrade arrives. Thats what ticks me off about Android... a new OS every couple of months and three devices a week, someone like me has to struggle to be content when my device is outdated in a months time

All in all, im a very happy EVO owner but im sure that Christmas season wil really be hard for me lol...

Yeah lots of android phones will be announced and some even brought out but there wont be any major leaps and bounds phones out for at least a year. I think the galaxy s comes to sprint with a keyboard by christmas but I dont know that I would call that phone leaps and bounds ahead of the Evo or another similar phone on the market.
