Until we get those here in the states, I'm sittin on my TP2 until the WP7 smoke clears, or at least starts to.

I feel the same way you do varchar32, while I have not owned an Evo I have had the opportunity to use one as much as I like and I am a bit disappointed. My issue is with Android it is like trading problems for more problems. Right now with a tuned up TP2 I can't justify the cost of the switch although I "want" to.

Where do you look from here, do you hope for 7 to be all that or even look for the fruit to jump carriers?

With all these new large captivating screened phones, I'm sure there's going to be quite a few jaw droppers released in the next year or so... I haven't even had my TP2 for a year yet, so I plan on hanging around for a bit... Plus if they get the Overclocking or Android port fully working on the TP2 that would be even more of a reason to hang around.. =)

I'm still holding out hope that Sprint will relent on its no new phones for SERO policy. I'm not about to abandon ship just yet as the TP2 is holding up just fine, particularly with all of these good Roms (NRG :D). I dont want to pay $30-40 more just to be able to even purchase a new phone and gain no real service benefit. Obviously, if you have strong 4G coverage its different.

I think once WP7 phones start to trickle out Sprint will either have to allow a few of these to Business legacy plan holders who make up a large segment of their loyal customers. At the very least, I think Sprint will offer legacy plan holders a few enterprise level smart/business phones under the "Windows Embedded Handheld" OS which will come out later this year and be based on the Windows Mobile 6.5.x stuff.

Until I see how this all plays out, I'm not leaving SERO yet. They are using the momentum of android and these new phones to drive people to higher priced plans but I'm not entirely convinced this will last forever. Otherwise, they will have essentially made a corporate stance to bar all legacy plan holders from ever getting ANY new smart phone whatsoever. This would be a BOLD stance and not a smart way to treat longtime customers. Remember this is not just SERO users, but all people with legacy plans.

We shall see...

Really, the only problem with TP2 isn't WM, it's Sense overloading the tiny processor.
This was Sprint's best smartphone up until the EVO rolled out to the masses.

it still might be as evident by these comments.

agreed. the tp2 works much faster with titanium enabled. If the processor was larger(should be considering its no different the the 2008 Diamond/TP), it would obviously run more smooth with sense enabled. Even so, I completely enjoyed the tp2 with sense on several custom roms here. One thing I will tell you is the Evo is a fantastic device. There's been some complaints, some valid for that matter. But it's getting better by the day with the custom roms being developed. To each their own but my experience has been lights out good.

I'm hoping that's the case as I just snagged a TP2 off Ebay and plan on running Mobile Shell as opposed to Sense. I know raw Titanium would probably be quickest, but I still find Mobile Shell (with one of the newer Hero themes over it for a little eye candy) to be the most efficient, touch-friendly WM interface.

I obviously am eager to tinker with these Android ports as well (as they seem to have more support than the ones for my aging, but beloved, Diamond.)
