So it sounds like the original Androd prototype used the same hardware as the Treo Pro. HTC made the first Android phone, and HTC made the Treo Pro for Palm.

"that device eventually became the Palm Treo Pro running Windows Mobile"

screen size is a huge prob here guys this will die out before it happens, we have ported to the tp2 via sd card and still no sound and its a little bit laggy at times.

personally just have to say, that android would be really cool... but the thing is you bought a wm phone to have a wm phone. why is everyone trying to get android, when they got wm phones? shouldnt we instead make something like android but have it on wm, so we can still use it for the reasons we bought the phone for ;) haha, just my take on the whole android thing. if people want android, get an android phone.

I know in my case I prefer the form factor of certain phones over others. For instance, a Blackberry style phone with keyboard running android would be great. What I'm really waiting on is Webos on a candybar (the pixi doesn't count). As far as WM goes, I love my Treo Pro and would love to have webos on it for the physical form of the phone but I do enjoy Wm on the phone. Just my .02 worth.

From having both os's on my tp2 and then looking back at the screen on the ptp i really think that android will be more of a pain then good, android= finger friendly PTP screen= not so finger friendly...

Sorry if this is a retarded comment. But android can run on the i780 which also has a SQVGA screen. So instead of reverse enginnering, is it possible to edit the i780's haret?
