Owner Information in 6.5.1
 

Is there any way to get the Owner Information option restored into the 6.5.1 build, or does anyone know where in the registry that may be located? Thanks in advance for any info ya'll can give me.

Success! Okay here's how I worked around the Owner Information issue with registering Resco Explorer. I flashed to CFay's 6.5 ROM, entered my owner information, and found the registry key HKCU/ControlPanel/Owner and exported it to my SD card. I then re-flashed to 6.5.1, and then imported the key. I was able to register Resco Explorer after that! Hope this will help someone if they run into that same problem.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. One of the values within the key is one called Owner, and it's a hexidecimal which I'm thinking is what Resco was looking for in order to be able to register it. I think the only sure way to populate that value is to flash, export, re-flash at the moment.

I enabled owner info on the Today screen, entered data and registration for everything works now. It also showed up in Settings / Personal after that.

Yeah I was going to try that, but the owner information option wasn't available on my today screen items list.

All I did was using resco with regedit, added a string called named Owner and typed my name in
no need to export a reg file from a different installation.

actually to find this I just search for the word owner in the Registry and looked for the key with nothing entered, figured they weren't trying to hid it.
