changing the mail button assignment
 

i just installed hannips wonderful sms application, however the mail button on my phone still takes me to the old messages screen, altho now it no longer has the option to go to messaging, and only wants me to go to email. how can i change the assignment of the button to open up my new sms app, or anything else i want for that matter.

also, i almost never use the internet shortcut on the today screen. how do i change that also?

try going to start/settings/personal tab/buttons and assign the mail button(its listed as app4 in my fone) to program of ur choice

alternative= install keyswop and assign whatever program u want to one of the soft keys...check Mal's reg edit/tweak thread in the 850 forum for a link to the app

did u try the key swop option or did u change it from the phone, under settings??

settings/buttons is the quick fix here, I have reassigned all of my shortcut buttons, and with the opt+ setting you can have shortcuts to many of your common programs.

you can access the internet thru the start menu...if you replaced the softkey/internet...or just change the softkey/contacts to internet...
