I dunno, I get 2 days out of my Touch Pro, with exchange on push for 14 hours, and gmail on every 2 hours, around 2000 minutes a month, and 1000 or so texts.

I also use a custom rom and don't expect a device with a faster processor, bigger screen, and 4 times the memory to get the same battery life as my mogul, like a lot of the people in that linked thread do.


Back on topic, the delay on the Treo Pro sucks, it's probably just going to get overshadowed by the Pre, which sucks because the Treo Pro is probably the best phone Palm has put out, ever.

this is not true, It is available for pre order with over night shipping on feb 11, through sprint partners, flat price of 300.00 with 100.00 rebate.

I would reckon there are a lot of people that would argue that point with you. I'm not one of them because I've only used a Centro and my 800w.

Well, "flat price" should be $249 not $300 and no, the phone is not ready yet for release, so I would not hold your breath.

I'm pretty positive "sprint partners" are definitely near the bottom on the "need to know" status of devices and see no reason to take their word.

Re-flashing ROMs can be done in 2 days, that's not the issue. Fixing (whatever they are trying to fix) and getting the device cleared is what matters now.
Having been using the Sprint Treo Pro for 2 weeks now, I can tell you it is very good but "the best phone Palm has put out" is a little bit of hyperbole/opinion ;-) And like every WM device, it has quirks and things not to like about it e.g. the buttons are terrible (too flush, bad location--I always end up turning on Wifi during a call since it is on the lower side); the stylus is metal (yay?) but is a tiny stub that is 3/4 the size of the 800ws; annoying standard WM problems like alarms/alerts going off in the ear speaker while on a phone call; the screen guard is huge and blocks your SMS message; Live Search is outdated from months ago yet is in ROM; I switch between 1x and 3g more frequently than the 800w; data connection is wonky; email vibrate is 4-5 seconds long, which is overkill; 528mhz is not really that fast on here; too little RAM; IE6 really sucks bad; touchscreen is not too sensitive; no LED flash etc...

Still, it is a nice device. Just not perfect. Nothing is ;-)

what a smarta__, the deal my company has would be a final price of 200.00 not 249.00. And it has shipped,,So what do you know. I was holding my breath like you said to do, and guess what, I am still living.

Congratulations

So they shipped it by accident and you'll have to return/exchange it for the new "Sprint approved" ROM, since they are in the process of fixing the darn thing. Just like I have to return mine to Best Buy before my 30 days. The phone has still not been cleared for sale by Sprint.
