Treo pro keyboard backlight will not go off

My pro got a lil wet this weekend, and now the key backlight wont go off. it drains my battery too quickly now. Is there a reg hack that will allow me to control this manually? I tried advanced config tool but it doesnt have an option for any of this. I couldnt find anything from googling this situation, so thought i would ask and see.
