Battery Sucks!!!!!
 

Had the 800 for 8 months and loved it other than the battery. Was excited to get the pro hoping it would be the same but sleeker and a better battery. I was wrong, a lot of changes. Hated the pro, so after two months sold it on craigslist for $200 (same as what I paid on ebay). Decided I would go back to 800 and buy and additional battery and battery charger. BIG MISTAKE. Fully charged battery. Down to 19% in fours hours without using it (no calls and everything is turned off). How can sprint not recall this? Sorry I am ranting but I love this phone, why can't they design the same thing that last.

This was my biggest gripe with this phone but I learned to adapt. I kept a micro USB cable at work with my computer and kept an extra charger in my vehicle. Also carried a third cable with my external HDD just in case I was going to be workin away from my desk for an extended period.

I have a few ideas myself. I have one of those portable chargers (good for one or two charges), car adapter, and now extra battery. Hopefully this gets me til a new better alternative comes out.

buy an extended battery!
i have the seido 2600 mAh and last me for two days.....

The the Seido 2600 mAh battery is the minimum if you want to be anywhere near what the 700p could do on battery endurance.

Next you should install Treo Alerts to utilize the LED more and the vibrate or audio alerts less.

Then install mortscript tweaks to control and conserve battery like "dannzemans 800w Registry Script"

Remember to install the USB charging update.

Then adjust back lighting duration and brightness to conserve.

Next adjust GPS, WIFI and BT radio use to match your needs. There is no need to have all of these radios on constantly. (wonder if the battery will go dead if I leave 3 radios on? YUP!)

Purchase a good quality 800w automobile cradle that charges, I choose the "proclip". Get in the habit of parking your phone in the cradle when in the car. You will find it handy anyway if you use a navigation program.

Result: I have a useful win mobile Treo that offers much more than the old 700p.
