Gmail Chat with 800w
 

Hey guys, i literally went through all the pages in this forum and didnt find an answer so either it hasnt been asked or its not possible at all, but here goes. I can log on to my gmail account, butthere is a function, gchat, which i am not seeing. I tried it was IE and Opera and they both dont show it. Has anyone been able to use gchat with treo 800w or is it even possible? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

mite need to download something from google, like an app????

add-on: from the responses, seems like u can do that online, skyfire or fring.com..thanx guys for the ideas, i didnt know those options existed.

Maybe I'm wrong but as far as I know Google does not have a stand alone IM app much less one for PPC and must be used in a browser. I just logged in to my Gmail using Skyfire and I was able to use chat there.

You can chat on multiple platforms at once (AIM, gtalk, msn etc)

Correct, no stand-a-lone gchat app....

Fring works, but so does SkyFire (that's what I use)

you guys could try palringo also, i use it on my touch pro so dunno if itll work on the 800s

I didn't think PalRingo worked with the 320x320 square screen all that well.

I use OctroTalk. It works pretty well.
