Battery drop while charging and on a call?
Has anyone noticed this? I was using the 1000ma charger that shipped with the phone. I thought this was so strange i called palm tech to get more info. They said it was part of the design of the treo(s) - all of them. Is this true? Your thoughts please

How much of a drop? I have noticed a slight one, but nothing that really peaked my interest. Perhaps my calls have not been long enough lmao.

Re: Battery drop while charging and on a call?
I have noticed that if I have it plugged in to the ac charger the battery will drop if I do anything.

Re: Battery drop while charging and on a call?
I usually don't do much while its plugged in but I have gotten it down to 91% from its usually 97-100%. I very rarely get a 100%.

Re: Battery drop while charging and on a call?
my question first of all is why does it do that? second, is it bad for the battery to be constantly draining/recharging?

Re: Battery drop while charging and on a call?
I have gotten it down to 20% battery WHILE plugged in. Did a little testing and found the device will never draw more than 570ma at any time.

oo I'll post a blog if you're really interested but here were some of my results:
First I tested using a 480ma max usb computer output -device of 170-180ma -low light idle (on) 190-210ma -highest light idle (on) 270ma -gps on low light 280ma -nonsensed connection 80ma (no charging light) -idle in pc sync mode 210ma -tom tom 7 340ma -no gps 270ma -activesync 250ma -exchange ota activesync 380-400ma -wifi 290ma (disconnected) -wmwifirouter 340-480MAXED OUT -no wifi 240 - 440ma - off no data connection 110ma Then I tried turning tomtom on and wmwifirouter and wifi and full bright with a 1000ma source device never exceeds 570ma and will rarely even get that high. kinda strange considering the ac it comes with will let up to 1000 out |
