noNueBar has a bonus

Long story short, I was getting tired of the SIP icon on my screen even though I had vijay555's hack to remove the bottom bar. I tried no2chem's noNueBar and although it still has the SIP icon, the carrier bar was removed. The Palm functions still work. I guess its something I'm going to need to deal with.

One thing I did notice, is that when you hit the right soft key, the menu pops up on the left.

Before any hacks:

With noNueBar installed:

Dial lookup still works finely.

Right soft key menu to the left.

Just a day so far. I can adapt to the softkey menu. I just want to find a few ways to increase free space on my homescreen.

use RealVGA and UltimateLaunch. RealVGA will give you lots more real estate to play with and UltimateLaunch will allow you have multiple Today screens so you can fill up each Today screen with plugins and/or apps.
Here's the difference between the normal screen and then with RealVGA installed:

Re: noNueBar has a bonus

I couldn't get realVGA to go and I'm not in the mood for a hard reset. Looking at those screenies (or at least trying to) its going to be way too hard on my eyes.

EDIT: I was sleepy and forgot that I didn't already have Mortscript installed. Even with my glasses on I can barely see the letters when I'm composing a message. Its a nice application, and will still come in handy though.

oh, ah, you're supposed to install realvga directly after a hard reset without having anything installed first.

you can also change the size of the text in you system settings.

I increased the text size all it would go before posting that! My eyes are fairly bad. Its sad since most of my job involves reading small numbers. Its too bad I have to soft reset to change the DPI. I'd love to be able to switch back between the two on a moments notice.

I installed nonuebar, but the keyboard is still there. How do we get rid of this? I have not found any setting for this, where did they go?
