Need Help with these problems on 800w
 

Bought my wife a treo800 because her pearl sucked so much and iv lived and breathed my 6700 then my mogul so when the treo800 was coming out the ram and processor seemed like a great upgrade for her and wouldn’t have mogul type problems *boy was i wrong*

She can’t send txt msg's unless she is on AIM they just won’t send no error message just won’t do it.

she will get random error msg's without even using the phone

When she tries to open her outbox on txt msg's the phone freezes

When she plugs in her charger it takes about 5 minutes before it realizes its plugged in and starts charging and after an hour it says that its almost full (sounded like a bad battery so i got a new one)

I’ve talked to my sprint service center regional manager (i own a store and im a sprint tech as well) which these days doesn’t mean anything they tell us to just advanced exchange it we don’t fix anything anymore but that is a whole other thread

since i got her this phone I have been looking for a fix I’ve gone through tech support to do resets, reprogramming, IOTA a few times, replaced the phone twice you name it I’ve done it apparently except for whatever its going to take to fix it. i installed the update from palm for that phone which was supposed to fix the charger problem and the Bluetooth problem but hasn’t really done much.


has ANYONE encountered this and if so did u fix it? And how?

there is something seriously wrong because i have been using the phone for a month and installed an unknown amount of 3rd party apps. i even got the threaded 6.1 sms back without these problems. what have you installed/ restored from previous backup. and make sure that your wife is not installing anything into the phone without your knowledge. any error messages would be cleared with a hard reset and if you are still experiencing the same problem there is something serious going on. have you had any similar problems with phones other than the mogul?

hard reset wont help like i said i have done hard resets and this isnt the first one of these she has had...no on the 3rd party software...she literally just uses it for phone txt and email she really doesnt even need a pda but ya know haha whatever ..... like i said i am a sprint tech./store owner so i mean iv used everything i can to figure this out and sprints answer is oh lets just give you a new one but they have all done the same thing. i was hopeing someone would be like oh i had some of those problems i put this reg edit in and fixed it no problem lol

never heard of these kinda problems and i work for sprint too. are you sure you dont live next door to some ridiculously over sized electromagnet? lol. but seriously theres gotta be something odd going on because ive never heard of these problems. and if you are doing hard resets and having the phone replaced theres something your missing. i wish we had a "dr house" for cell phones lol

Have you Tried Changing Your Phone Number, I Remember A While Back I Had A Similar Problem With My Treo700wx, Nobody From Sprint Could Fix This Problem, The Only Thing They Did Was To Change My Number And Somehow My Phone Started Working Properly, I Have No Idea Why, Of Course I Have The Treo800w Now And I Havent Have Any Problem With It So Far, I Have Installed Many Third Party Application But Never Had A Problem With Those, Iam Not Sure That Can Help But Is Just An Idea...
