Voice command and Bluetooth
Has anyone gotten voice command to work via a bluetooth headset?
I have tried a Jawbone and it activates the software but it doesn't connect audio or the mic. |
Re: Voice command and Bluetooth
The thing that totally baffles me about having VC installed on this thing is that it doesn't work over BT. Why would you (Palm) want to include an app. that obviously doesn't work correctly? I would just assume you leave it out. Palm really needs to fix this as well as Microsoft. Personally I think its a MS VC thing more than a Palm thing. I had it working on my Mogul. It didn't work 100% though. Maybe about 60% of the time, but I could at least make use of it. Especially for dialing calls while driving. This is just useless if you don't have it working over BT. Don't you guys agree?

Of course I agree. But then I agree with most everything you say. ;)
I played with VC for a few days and then assigned its hard button to another app. Just not worth the bother at this point. Quote:

I've gotten it to work with my Treo800w and the BlueAnt T8. One tap of the button on the T8 and it prompts for command completely bluetooth. The only thing i stuggled with was the volume over bluetooth but it works.

Re: Voice command and Bluetooth
Have you installed the update from Palm? It works fine for me using both my Plantronics 925 and 855.

Works fine for me - using WiREVO HSH200 Stereo Headset.

Re: Voice command and Bluetooth
Once I installed the BT update, I am able to use both my Plantronics Discovery 655 and my Jabra BT8040 without any problems just using the MFB on the earpiece. The voice prompts from the VC program are a little low in volume so I have to make sure that the volume is turned up all the way.
I hope this helps. Rob |
