This is treo related, but not to the phone..more towards buying,etc. didnt know where else to put it soo please dont move?


Ok so, I bought a Mogul and renewed by contract for 2 years in december.

Now i have the Mogul, its in good condition and has had a hard plastic case on it with a screen protector since ive owned it, theirs one very small chip from dropping thats barely noticeable..id put it under "normal wear and tear"

Basically, what would be my best option to get the Treo for under $599? Im told I cant receive any rebates without upgrading my contract, but its not upgradeable right now. So what exactly is my best option? Im thinking im going to sell the Mogul to a friend, but is their ANY loop hole where i could get the treo 800w for less than the listed $599. Im relatively new to the phone hustle, so i see a lot of SERO talk and TeleSales,etc. Could these be options for me? Again, any helps appreciated...

your best bet seeing as how you just renewed in dec would be to sell the mogul and use the procedes towards the purchase of a new device

currently on the phone with telesales...i dont want to curse anything so i wont say whats going on, but if what i think is happening happens, it will make everything worth it..

alright, i somewhat cursed it i guess

either way,the breakdown:


I dont have a line under my name, (big brothers watching,etc.), so about 6-7 years ago, i took my pops phone since he never used it (obviously i didnt take it ya dummy,he gave it to me). Him and my mom have two lines...one she uses, one he never uses that i use.

She hasnt bought a new phone in 3-4 years probably. and hasnt upgraded her contract in about 2 years (i just updated mine last dec. as previously stated)

Basically,in the end, i syphoned her rebates and got an option between an extra 50 dollar instant rebate OR a 10% discount on my monthly bills for the next 24 months

final price, $349.00-$100MIR=$249.99 + 10% off 24 months of bills = :-)

i also made it real clear that i was planning on activating it under the "other" number and each time got a laugh like "you are verrry sneaky" but all said no problem and kept giving me more discounts or options. The only reason i mentioned it often was because i wanted to make sure their wouldnt be rebates taken away later on for not activating under the renewed contract number.

working customer service definitely has its benefits sometimes...
