[SOLVED] ActiveSync problem, no file transfer works.

Hi,

I've tried sending files to the Storage Card using ActiveSync cable and also via Bluetooth from the PC to phone. It stops half way and disconnects the ActiveSync.

The only way for me to transfer files is by downloading them using a browser, or phone to phone beam.

Any help?

Solution was, thanks to cozboogie, a hard reset.

This has been an issue for sometime with the 700WX and many of the older WinMo devices. I dealt with this for almost a year before I was able to fix the issue. Are you having this problem with both the BT and cable methods? Also, what ROM is currently on your phone?

Connect via Active Sync. On your pc open up AS. Go to tools/options. Check the box for "files" for the correct relationship.

This is will place a folder on your desktop. Putting items in this folder will then sync (move) them to your ppc when you connect.

You probably already knew that....but it's the first thing that came to mind.

Also, you might first try sending your file straight to you ppc first and then move it to the storage card. How much memory is left on your device and on your card?

Nah, that doesn't work either. It still closes the connection, storage card, or device.

Backup your contacts, calendar, etc. and do a hard reset.

Sorry for this lame question, but how does one do the hard reset?

Re: ActiveSync problem, no file transfer works.

Take off the battery cover and there is a small hole where you will insert the stylus. If you just press the little button with the stylus it will soft reset. But...if you hold down the end button (Red) while inserting the stylus into the little hole under the back cover then you will perform a hard reset. There will be a message on the screen asking if you want to perform a hard reset...press up on the d-pad.

Remember, theis will erase EVERYTHING and return the phone to it's original stock settings.

Re: [SOLVED] ActiveSync problem, no file transfer works.

Sorry to get back in here, but seems the problem has returned! Whether I try to copy to Storage or Device, it does it. Only way now is transferring via OBEX.

I'm not gonna fiddle with it, I guess like some other poster mentioned - this is a problem with Treos. Just gonna wait a few more months before getting the wifey a proper smartphone. (Got this because 2 months left before I make a move where TELUS wouldn't work)
