sktools freeram function
I am using sktools on my 700wx and the freeram function works great except that when it is used, the led blinks but when the process is done, the led continues to blink and I do not know of a way to stop it or disable that in sktools.
Anyone have any suggestions on this |
Yeah...that's some sort of a bug. Soft reset and you're good to go.

Are you saying soft reset every time I do the freeram function? or just the one time
|
Just soft reset when it freezes and your led is blinking. If the process completes and the LED stops blinking then there is no need for a soft reset.

That's the problem, the process completes but the led keeps blinking and I am not sure how to turn off the blinking portion other than a soft reset which kinda stupid if I have to do that every time I do a freeram

If you're looking for a change you might check out the new MemMaid fournd here:

Thanks,
I have memmaid as well but I like the freeram tool from sktools. Seems much better. |
Actually the best free ram tool is Anton Tomov's Pocket Mechanics Pro. It actually frees most of the RAM among the three. Memmaid did not free as much and SKTools will kill some process during the freeing routine such as activesync. However, AT's Pocket Mechanics Pro is somewhat dangerous lately as it safe mode (used by a list of its function such as SD card defrag) causes hard reset so if you are not backup often, do not use Pocket Mechanics Pro.

Thanks Jeff, I will look into Pocketmechanics. I am happy with SKTools except for that LED thing. If only there is a way to stop it, or for it stop by itself when the process is done.
