Weird font on call screen (not the Weatherpanel problem)...

I searched and found out how Weatherpanel was changing call screen fonts but I don't have WP installed...are there any other programs known for changing fonts on the call screen? Only the status area ("Active, Hanging up") and name of person calling/being called is different...the other parts of the call screen still have the default fonts...

How about a screenshot?

Sorry...here it is...the font isn't horrible but it's not the default as you can see...

I'm gonna assume it's a WA2 related issue... but still run a search for .TTF files on your device.

If I'm right you'll find one on \Program Files\Lakeridge\WA2\Theme\<Theme Directory>

Erasing the TTF file may affect the WA2 skin itself though...

If you haven't found the problem yet, may I ask if you had weatherpanel at any time in the past? I am thinking maybe some files got left behind, I re-did my Treo this weekend, and in uninstalling it (I should have just hard-reset....another story), The data and files were left behind and I had to manually delete them.

Just a thought!!

Thanks for the feedback...there are no .ttf files in the theme folder and I made sure Weatherpanel was completely gone after uninstalling...can anyone identify what style font that is in the first place? Then maybe I can work backwards...

From the looks of it....the word ACTIVE is the only one effected.. I am guessing but it looks like "Times New Roman"

pdawg17 07-06-2007 02:21 AM

Hmmm...when I search for .ttf files in the entire device I only get a few copies of tahoma that show up...Times New Roman you think? Weird...I'm not stressing about it or anything but it would be nice to know what changed it...and btw, the phone number is also affected but I blacked it out :)

If you have SPB Mobile Shell installed, that's what's changing your font. Go into the "themes" section and change it to no theme. I had this same problem with mobile shell and it was the them inducing it. I've found that different themes create different fonts. Hope this helps.

if you are using rltoday and downloaded one of the themes for that, some of them have different TTF files that could affect that screen as well. That happened to me.

Hmmm....I did have Mobile Shell installed before but not now...

I have SPB Mobile Shell installed and all my fonts have remained default. I have WP, SPB Mobile Shell, with a lot of other SPB goodies installed and my font has not once been changed. I have noticed rl changing fonts based on themes, but not Mobile Shell.

Try changing your today theme. For example if you're runnning the "classic black" theme change that to something else.

Let us know what happens.

That's when it was happening with mine. with SPB Mobile Shell, when i would change over to one of their themes, it would only change my call screen font ("Active", "Dialing", and "Hanging Up"). When I deselect 'Use a color based theme" in the mobile shell menu and switch back to say the "Classic Black" theme, the fonts would return to normal. But as pdawg stated, his mobile shell was not installed at the time.

Poke through the registry and look for any left over spb bits and pieces. Delete them and report back.

Coz
