okay, lemme say this first before anyone goes to ranting.
I checked the whole 700wx forum. and I checked the web. and I still couldn't get answers. The questions were brought about on here but answers were not. Threads just died.
QUESTION:
I have stock 700wx and I can't go past 160 characters. I found the solution. just install Cody and voila. PROBLEM: Before I installed it.. it says u will loose all existing text messages.. I can't afford that. I have a separate folder in my inbox folder with important text messages. I can't afford to loose em. I'm trying to see if thres a way to back it up. or move the text messages to my sd card. but I couldn't find a way.. no one has a solution..Coz, I'm sure u got one.. can someon or anyone guide me towards the right direction.

For starters you could forward them all on to your home/work email.

I think SPB Backup lets you customize your back up. Also look at setting up a Dashwire account.

i wish i would have at least checked back on here before i started witht he cody thingy ... Now i think ive bricked my phone... well.. ill bbl.. i need support for that cody thingy.. and if im not mistaken, i cant get support from here... dam im pissed... ah well.. its life.!

OK. I’m on a 700wx STOCK. And I think my phone is bricked... Let me tell u the whole story
I followed all the instructions like asked. Only thing was my folder had 13 files rather than 12. So I copied all 13.
Restarted the phone and all dat good stuff.
Then I looked and everything seems alright besides the fact that when I push the sms button on the left to take me to sms, instead it pops up SMS & MESSAGE for me to choose. I didn’t like that so I was looking for where to change that and couldn’t. Thought maybe taking away messaging from today screen would do it but nah. Didn’t.
So I went ahead and uninstalled Rosco file explorer, because all of a sudden it said I was expired and needed to register. I uninstalled it and tried uninstalling the SMS thread thingy because I felt I didn’t need the stuff in the Programs anymore. Thinking that all the files are in the windows folder now, so by pushing remove programs for the sms in Remove programs, it can’t hurt nothing.. In the process of removing phone was freezing and started lagging. I then started seeing a prompt asking me about some "webview" error. I didn’t know what it was, so I pushed no. It wouldn’t go. So I just kept pushing no until the sucker understood. Well then I came to a screen saying I had to restart the phone. And I thought, well it uninstalled the roscoe thingy successfully.
I restart phone. Put in password, and it won’t go past the TIME screen... I’m stuck there. I can’t go anywhere. I’ve taken the battery out like 100 times. And it’s still not working. And I didn’t back anything up. Did I **** it up?? PLEASE HELP
***Update.***
Tmailutl.dll : I saw the white box but could not see the message. So I click yes because I’m thinking it just wants to run the file.
Cannot execute tmail.exe: All I could do was push ok…

I'm assuming you have no ActiveSync connection either?

nope.. no active sync. i just tried.. and i got pics of what its showing me and ive push and hold the reset button for 3 secs...
its make the sound on my computer as it connected... then disconnected.... Im not talking about the active sync sound.. Im talking about the usb plug in sound.. U know the sound ur comp makes when u first plug in a usb into it.. and then take it out. that sound..

Post up those pics. But I think we both know what the next words out of my mouth are gonna be...........................hard reset. But hold off on doing that for now.

look above... thats what it looks like when i first start phone.. then after i input password it either stays when u supposed to click finish for the time.. OR it give u an error screen like what i posted.. what u are looking at there is the webview.dll error

Well.. i just activated my other treo i got.. too bad i didnt not back up my address book...

hey coz.. I'm still holding off on doing a hard reset on that phone...I tried irda a pic to it.. it auto accepted.. then pending, then failed.. bluetooth the same way...

If you're not getting past those screens I'd sadly opt for the hard reset.

okay.. np.. RIP to my old phone.. I just lost all the females.. hope I don't call em by the wrong names.. have to explain why I don't remember their numbers at all.. ;-P
One last question since I just hard reset the otha phone and dunno how to do this..
1. this phone has 1.14 on there.. I saw how to go to 1.15 on palm site.. says I need a pc.. Is there a cab file or a direct dowload from sprint that auto installs from site to phone.. I'm scared to brick this one too.

2. I dunno how I did this because its been a while. but I think I had my gmail set up under my IMAP.. problem is now I dunno where I got those settings from to input for the mail server and ports.

3. I guess that's it.. thanks.. I guess its not good to uninstall the sms thingy.. ol well thnx Coz.

1. Check out this thread for the upgrade to 1.15. I think there is a way to do it from your card...though you might still need a pc.

2. Umm...

3. Lesson learned....always make a backup before installing stuff. May I suggest SPB backup.
