Silencing ringer on incoming call

Is there a way to silence the ringer during an incoming call by depressing one of the side buttons?

Sometimes when a call comes in, I would like to be able to silence the call without physically taking the phone out and pressing the right softkey + ignore.

Anyone have any ideas??

The center button on the D-pad will silence it or turning the switch on top of the phone too.

I know a few weeks ago, I wanted to know what happens when I do that, so I called myself. When I pressed the End key, I heard some kind of recording stating that this number is busy and to call back later. I called again and did the same thing and the same thing happened. I just tried it now and it seems to only happen of after a few rings.

well, when i do that, the other person just gets my voicemail

any key on the keyboard silences the ringer.

the red one sends it directly to voicemail.
(which is one of the greatest features...ever, reminiscent of old Nextel)

Hey all, I understand the END key & D-pad will stop it, but I was hoping there would be a way to assign the side button to silence. I carry my phone is a pouch and sometimes while I am in conversation and my phone rings, I don't want to be rude and stop the convo to look @ my phone and silence it. It would be much smoother and non-chalant to just reach down and give my pouch a squeeze (uhh, that didn't sound right).

Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions. if anyone finds a way to make this happen in the future, post it up.
