700wx and Google Maps
 

I recently installed Google Maps via Google's website. I was sure to install the Windows Mobile version of the software. After installing GM my 700wx began to slow and even freeze. While a soft reset fixed the problem it was persistent. After removing Google Maps my 700wx runs without problems/freezes again.

The problem is that I really enjoy Google Maps. Is there anywhere I can find a version, copy, etc. that will work without problem?

Did you install into storage card or device memory?

Install onto your storage card. Also make sure to delete the .cab file after installation as that can eat up some memory too.

I saved the file itself to my memory card, then installed the program to the device. I figured that Google Maps is a heavy program that might run better on the device itself rather than being used from the Memory Card.

I followed your instructions. I will be eager to see if the stability issues disappear.

If I may, what difference does the placement of the file make if it is the same file? Shouldn't I expect the same lack of stability? Is this because Google has made one generic version for Windows Mobile (all versions and all formats <Standard/Professional>)?
