treo 700wx video ques...
I gotta 4gb card, and a Treo 700wx on the way. Wanna have it loaded up so i can jus pop it in and go. But before i start convertin all my videos...
Whats the best format? WMV? or Avi? Best Resolution? Encoded with WMV9 codec or Divx? Ideal BitRate? 500kbps? Where do videos go on the card? Where does mp3s go? Can i play videos full screen? |
More info
The bit rate and res question can only be answered by you technically. 500 seems a little high to me, but it all depends on how much you want to fit on the card. High b r and res means bigger file size.
As far as where media files go on the card: make sure you are synced to your pc, and using file explorer in ActiveSync place them in My Windows Mobile Based Device/Storage Card. If you dump them on the card your Treo can find them. No special folder needed. The only part to make sure of is telling your Treo to use the storage device library instead of the internal one. Windows media player/ menu/ library/ storage card. Hope this helps. |
thx but wuts the highest resolutinit will support? 240x240? and will it play full screen?
|
I would say go avi at 300 kbps. Do you have CorePlayer? What are you using to convert the vids? virtualdub? Personally, I use the matroska container which is far superior to avi or wmv. Inside I use xvid and mp3 audio. Must have coreplayer for this config tho. Or TCPMP which is free.

thx 4 the info guy? but do videos play full screen? wuts the ideal rez? bertter yet 16.9? or 4.3?

The ideal rez for playing videos full-screen would probably be 240x240 because then you'll get to use the entire screen. Umm... as for 16:9 or 4:3, I don't know. I would try 4:3 first. To answer your first post: WMV would probably be better 240x240 for full-screen viewing (the screen's res is 240x240) I doubt that pWMP will read DivX, so I would encode in WM9 Whatever bitrate you want. The higher the smoother the playback and quality will be Me personally, i would create a folder called Videos or whatever. You can put them wherever you want on the card. Same as Videos. Personally I have all my music in a folder called Music Already answered, but yes you can. |
thx loads man! :D

Re: treo 700wx video ques...
You can store all your music on the SD card in a folder off the root directory called PALM, and Photos/Videos off the root in DCIM - that's where most of the Treo apps, like Pictures & Videos, look first when you select Storage Card from the drop down.
also - please send me the link to the latest sms threader  Quote:
