700wx browser ugrade??
 

Ok. you guys are a lot smarter than me - a complete novice. I continually get messages that i need to upgrade to IE6 or some other compatible browser. Clearly sprint/Palm are not providing it.

Any suggestions? I can't even view my yahoo unless I downgrade it on my pc.

What sites are you trying to access that give you that message? Give us a bit more info please.

Do you mean upgrading PIE or IE on your PC? Your Treo should have PIE installed already as part of WM.

an example is the newer version of myyahoo.com

If you change the User Agent in PIE (Pocket Internet Explorer) you'll be able to view that site. I can confirm this to be true. The User Agent setting tells websites what type of browser is accessing the site. Since by default PIE identifies itself as a "mobile" browser if you change the User Agent to a "pc based" browser you'll be able to see the site.

I've updated my PIE with MultiIE (allows tabbed browsing, etc.) so my menu stucture has changed. However you might be able to go into the settings of PIE and make that change.

You can also use something like SK Tools (http://s-k-tools.com/). They offer a free, never-expiring demo. With SK Tools you can change the user agent.

If someone who is still running the stock PIE wants to chime in I know that myself and telebiz would appreciate the help.
