Maybe a dumb question, but why wouldn't I get charged? When I have used the phone to dial an isp I have gotten charged. Why is this any different? Thanks!

I never said you won't get charged, but the PPC is signing in to the network the same way it dose when you are using PIE. I don't think there is a way for them to track this or even tell the difference. If you transfer large amounts of data all the time there is a chance that Sprint could charge you. I have used this method a lot in the past and I never got charged. It could happen thou, you could get charged, please read the first post.

Thanks, that makes sense. BTW I did read the first post and I wasn't debating the idea of being charged as I didn't know either way, I was wondering why this was different than dialing a number.

Does anyone actually have the phone as a modem plan ($39/mo I think)? Do they give some alternate way to access the isp through EVDO?

Need help with Sprint Connection Manager

I was wondering if anyone knows how to download the Sprint PCS Connection Manager for Windows ME? The disc that came with my TREO 700wx isn't compatible with Windows ME. I did find a compatible version on the Sprint website and was able to download it. The problem I am encountering now is that the computer doesn't recognize my treo when I connect via USB, probably because the Connection Manager is an older version and the phone is so new.

Now, I'm sure most of you are thinking "Just upgrade your system". But the computer I want to download to is a backup and I only use it occasionally. This has become a challenge for me and I really wanna figure out how to make it work.

I think what I need are the drivers for the 700wx. Anybody know how I can get those without using the disk? I opened the Connection Manager folder on my other comptuer and dowloaded some of the smaller files onto a 3 1/2 inch floppy and tried to download those on the other computer, but it said I was missing another file. I'm no computer scientist so I don't know what the computer wants!!! Anyway, if anybody out there has a solution, please respond. Thanks.

Please try to keep discussions on the same place, I have locked THIS thread since the same question was asked.

The box for the Treo 700wx says under the requierements that you need Windows 2000 or XP, so I don't think there are drivers for the WinME.

I'd try sending Palm an e-mail and see what they say...

Still having problems...

error 687 remote computer will not respond. Followed everything to a tee... And ideas on settings under the properties button? The Security or network tabs?

Be certain that your PC recognizing the treo should say treo as a choice in the modem select. Make sure the treo is connected to the PC when you turn the phone off to reset the radio, wait till the evdo or x1 comes back on and you have signal before starting the dialer.

Also, the new A2DP bluetooth stack from the Verizon wx (which can be installed on the Sprint wx) provides built-in DUN, from what I gather.
