Sprite backup

Is any one else using this? I have been using this for a couple of weeks and it has really saved me a couple of times. I am not sure how spb's backup works but with sprite you will get everything back. I mean everything, text messages, call log, loaded programs, notes.... everything back the way it was the moment you made the backup file. If you hard reset and are away from your pc you can create a backup on your SD card it contains all that is needed to backup. You just double click the sprite file from file explorer and the file loads sprit back on the PPC then starts the back up. In just a couple of minuets you are back up and running in the same condition as the minute the file was created.

Best of all this program is on the CD that came with the 700wx so its FREE

Sprite

I am totally new to the 700WX, but had a Treo600 for a long time prior.

The first 700WX I got had a problem with a key on it, so I exchanged it for a new one within the first 14 days. Sprite Backup worked like a champ to have my new phone back to where the old one was in minutes.

Sprite Backup was included on my installation CD that came in the 700WX box.

:D

i'm not a treo owner, i'm a ppc owner and i've used sprite backup the first time lat week and like big D said... it really saved me while i was away from my pc... it's an awsome program.

I just installed it yesterday. I normally don't use a backup program for my PPCs. With as much tinkering as I have done with my 700wx, I thought I would give it a try.

also if you don't want to mess with the cd you can download it via palms website but u have to have ur serial handy

I have used this program with my 6700 and now with my 700WX and it works great on both systems.

I'm a user of SPB backup but I just tried using Sprite.

Looks nice. More comprehensive than SPB. I haven't tried a restore yet, so I'll keep a couple SPB backups until that fateful day.

I wish they would come out with a "backupman" type app for wm5 that would allow you to restore only certain files, one by one. That would be super

Sprite does have a selective restore. I'm not sure if it's file by file, but I noticed the option the other day when I restored after a hard reset...

I will check, but I'm pretty sure they're divided by "groups," not "files." I will re-install and check this though, thanks!

Was this ever confirmed because if it was it will save me alot of time with having to try and reinstall certain files.

I am a Sprite Backup user too:)

From my knowledge base, Sprite Backup is able to perform a selective restore and also you should be able to restore some certain files when the restore page pop up on your device. What you need is just find which files you want to restore to your device and then uncheck the rest files. After that initiate the restore process then you will get your files back:)

I've used Sprite Backup for several years. I first used it with my iPag H555 about 4 years ago. I didn't even know we had Sprite on our CD. I originally bought Sprite Backup from Handango, so their records showed I was still eligeable for an upgrade, at a lower cost, which I went ahead and bought.

Anyways, in regards to selective restore, it is able to. I've restored only personal files and even individual files previously. I've also recently restored Personal Databases, due to a harware reset, and had no problems.

I had to hard reset yesterday, away from my computer because it kept on hanging right after startup.. I used sprite backup and while it restored all of my programs, it didn't restore any of my data (ie: calandar, contacts, textmessages, email settings).. any idea what i did wrong?

im using the sprite version for the sprint 700wx if that matters..

Did you have those files checked when you did the backup? Did you have them selected to be restored?

Juslisten 03-20-2007 08:12 AM

After restoring a selected date has anyone had the message of having to ok the running of svl.dll I always select yes because I know I selected no one time & I had to do a hard reset. Just wondering as to why I get this message sometimes.

Pibe38 03-20-2007 05:58 PM

I've had that witth a couple of DLLs and EXE files, I think it's because Sprite restores/overwrites these files and you need to re-approve them like you did when you installed it originally.
