Wm 6.5/7

This may be really early to be asking this, or just real dumb but im curious. how long do you think it will take b4 sum great hacker is able to build a WM ROM for the pre i know drivers would have to be made and all but who knows. they managed to run android brilliantly on the touch so wouldn't WM be possible for the pre.

Edit: Ill even add a poll just to see what people think

i think they were able to run android on the touch because HTC makes the Touch and the G1. Since Palm makes the Pre, I dont think there will be Android for the Pre nor windows. However, I wont say its impossible.

I've heard all sorts of rumors that the Pre hardware is completely different than a wm device, but isn't that the point of having a Pre? I thought the Web OS was the revolutionary part of the Pre, not it's form factor. Most of the praises I've read have nothing to do with it's shape, size, or physical layout.

yea web os is the revolutionary part of the pre iv jus was though it was cool that you could boot into another os on a mobile device

MHO: If I wanted WM7 I would have waited for the TP2 or some other PPC device. WebOS was what turned me on to the Pre.

doesn't WM not support capacitive screens? as finger friendly as it's getting, WM in its current state will need a stylus at certain points. or if not a stylus, at least a d-pad, which the pre doesn't have.

by that logic we could just port a windows build from any number of treos

6.5 is not even finished yet, so how can you possibly even think wm 7 will be good? No one even has any idea of what it might look like....

I will tell you that the first official 6.5 will be out this year, but not the tpro2 or d2....

Re: Wm 6.5/7

whats the point in getting the pre if you want winmo on it... thas why im getting one, to get as far away from wm 6.1 and 6.5 as possible. WebOS is too awesome and well executed to even want wm. now wm7 might be worth wanting to port though. if i would want a port then nothing less than wm7 cus i dont want the ugliness of current version of my sexy pre (thats assuming it wont be half***** like 6.5 was)
