Re: Protection for the Prē

i was going to order from Zagg.com. with the discount code, it was 17.47 for a full shield, then they were charging $9 something for shipping.

Best buy has the entire shield for 20 bucks, im going to pick one up tomorrow

Something does not sound right regarding $9 for shipping as I think Zagg offers Free shipping for the regular shipping method.
Of course there are additional charges for expedited shipping methods such as Next Day, etc. which you may be speaking about.

Zagg still has the discount, use code "iphonepalm"

I went to Best Buy a few days ago and I thought I saw the full body for $29... and I think just the screen protection was $20... I could be wrong.

Applying it was no big deal, but maybe because I've had plenty of practice (full body shield for PSP, DS, Sansa 200, and a Canon digital camera, screen shield for Archos 605 and HTC Touch). Clarity and screen responsiveness is excellent, with the exception of some microbubbles that should go away after about 24-48 hours. It's just as good as Invisible Shield, except it's smooth to the touch. It doesn't have that tacky feel that Invisible Shield has, which annoys me a bit when making gestures and swipes on the DS touchscreen. I'd have to say it's even smoother than Boxwave's screen protectors, which are the smoothest I've tried before this. And of course, Ghost Armor has a lifetime guarantee, compared to the 6 mos to a year you'll get out of 1 Boxwave screen protector. Also, it filled in the scratches I had on my Pre nicely. You can't even tell I had any to begin with. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the feedback... I especially appreciate the fact that you have also used the Invisible Shield. I'm still debating what protection to get, but in the mean time my Pre is already getting scratches. :???: I think I have found my product... especially since I keep reading about the tacky feeling the Invisible Shield has. Thank you so much!

It should be noted that if you get the shield from BestBuy, Zagg will charge you 3.95 shipping any time you take advantage of the replacement guarantee. If you get it from the Zagg website, the replacements are free.

That's right. The "screen only" shield for the Pre actually doesn't cover the whole front, just the square active area. I recommend the "full body" shield, to anyone who is thinking of getting this... even if you only use the front half, because it will cover the whole front slider.

When you order a shield from Zagg, the first replacement is free and you DON'T have to mail back the shield BUT any subsequent replacements incurs the $3.95 shipping and handling fee and the shield being replaced has to be sent back.
The above info is per Zagg Customer Service.
I already received a replacement at no charge and did not have to mail back the replaced shield.
The tacky feeling is subjective regarding who is bothered by it but the scratch resistance is phenomenal.
I usually order 2 at a time because I sometimes screw up the install and I want to have a spare instead of waiting for the replacement.
It is a more out of pocket expense but the touchscreen gets scratched up Quickly without a protector.

Might as well get it from BestBuy, then, because you can complain your way out of the first 3.95. That is per Drybonz.
