Touch screen disabled
About 6 month old device, nothing fancy installed, screen has some usual scratches but that's expected wear, just a few days ago it started responding slow, to eventually not responding at all. Any guesses?? Thanks

Re: Touch screen disabled
Have you tried running webOS Doctor to see if it fixes your issue?
|
Re: Touch screen disabled
Haven't tried that. I'm on it, though!

Re: Touch screen disabled
Good :) Make sure you DL the newest Doctor, if you haven't already. I don't have a link but it is easily found. Let us know how it works for you :)

Re: Touch screen disabled
Okay, loaded the WebOS Doctor, then remembered since the screen isn't functioning, I can't tell the phone to be in Media Sync, USB, or Charge mode. Luckily, Palm got me around that by
>plugging phone into USB charger via working wall outlet >removing battery, reinsert battery >hold Volume up button, then release >USB symbol should appear on phone screen >reconnect phone to laptop From there I was able to press 'next' and just waited about 10 mins for it to do its thing, but now that the phone's finished, it's stuck on the screen that reads 'English/Espanol' and the touchscreen still doesn't work. Time to reach out to Palm? |
Re: Touch screen disabled
Do you have TEP on your account? If so, now that you have doctored just take it into a repair store and let them look at it. As long as there is no water damage, they will help you out. Someone else might have another solution you can try, but I say take it into the store.
BTW should change your phone info to Pre :) |

Dammit, can't get to Sprint until Tuesday! *sigh In the meantime, I suppose 2 whole days without a phone isn't that bad??!!? |
Re: Touch screen disabled
You can call it in, tell them what's up, if you haven't done any exchanges that way in 6 months I think, they will send you a replacement out (if you have TEP).

Re: Touch screen disabled
I don't have TEP and Sprint has exchanged 3 Pre's for me. In other words current one is Pre number 4. I was told on the phone by a Sprint rep "no more exchanges" but my local store said as many as necessary for a year and got me a new one. Good luck to you.

Re: Touch screen disabled
Just exchanged my daughter's Pre for the third time yesterday. First for the Oreo effect, second keyboard stopped responding, and the third her Pre didn't like the 1.4.1.1 update and came up with an "Unknown phone errror." You should be able to do this with out TEP since it seems to be a hardware defect.
