Tethering "under the wire"
Does anyone now if there is a way to tether the Palm Pre Plus without Verizon aware of it? If we already pay $30 additional for data I don't want to pay an $30 more for the "privelege" of tethering to my laptop.
Thanks in advance. |

Here is your answer:
http://blog.palm.com/palm/2010/04/no...gs-tips-1.html Just confirmed this through Verizon's "Chat Live". This should be enough for most people if you won't be doing alot of websurfing. Please wait for a Verizon Wireless sales representative to assist you with your order. Thank you for your patience! A Verizon Wireless online pre-sales specialist has joined the chat. You are now chatting with Jeremy Jeremy: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today? You: Hello Jeremy. I have one quick question. I read on the Palm Blog that on the Palm Pre Plus Verizon is currently offering free mobile hotspot usage for the first 5 GBs of usage. Is this correct? Jeremy: Correct. You: This is a great offer. Thank you. Jeremy: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless, I look forward to speaking with you again. Have a great day! Your chat session has been ended by your Verizon Wireless online agent. |
Re: Tethering "under the wire"
It is indeed true. I bought one to use as a MiFi device (and a second phone for backup) and Verizon told me that it worked as a MiFi for no additional charge ($20 less than using a MiFi alone, if the phone is added to a family plan!)
I will still use my Touch Pro 2 as my primary phone. Thanks! |
Re: Tethering "under the wire"
that may be a true statement... because when buying my PPP yesterday there was a $0 checkbox for "mobile hotspot" or whatever and i'm on a family share plan.
