Twitter to Become Location Aware
 

Twitter is in the works to allow users to manually fill out a location field when editing or creating their profile. According the the Twitter Blog this field can have anything in it and would not be very reliable. The effort is to allow users to read tweets from people near their location. The blog also mentions releasing geolocation to developers.

I've been waiting for this. iPhone has twinkle which is location based. Almost made me wanna get an iTouch just for that feature... i really hope twitter puts a rush on this.

Let the stalking begin. I don't see to many people using this for the general public to know where there at off of every tweet that they post.

I am not in favor of this and though I do not Twitter, it would be definite that the feature would not be enabled.
