SPRINT: data not working

SOLVED: PRL UPDATE MOST LIKLEY
i cant update the thread title with the updates?

This isn't a general question, nothing to do with software so I thought I'd put it here. My data just stopped working so I called *2. They picked up and said they were gonna update my phone and it would take less than a minute. I quickly reset my phone so I wouldn't get the update since I have no idea what the update is. Anyone else get this? I don't wanna let them update my phone unless I know what is lol.

Well my data seems fine, I don't think they can force an update on your phone other then maybe PRL?

Its technically maybe even illegal for them to do an update without your consent.

It cant be a rom update either since they cant push those yet.

Well PRL(preferred roaming list) is just a list...These kind of things they can do and should cause no harm (actually it may even improve your connection). Theoretically you phone calling them and them responding with a PRL update is enough of a consent for this kind of thing.

i just dont like them updating my phone over the air without them asking my consent. i dont care what they are updating. either way close the thread as its not news, its just something retarded. hopefully sprint next time asks me if i want the download before they install it on there. im gonna be calling then tomorrow for sure to let them know i do not approve of how they give me updates!

Re: SPRINT: data not working

It also could have been a pushed Profile Update.

When my first TP bricked back in Nov, I got it replaced at the store and started restoring my backup on my way out the door. Unfortunately, I didn't know much about WinMo as the TP was my first PPC, so I let the backup restore system data. I was without data for 1 day until I had time to call Sprint.

They tried repeatedly to push out profile updates and PRL's to no avail.

Hard Reset later, and I was back and running. Needless to say, I let data provision itself properly before restoring!

They are just updating your profile.
You can go to settings and do that yourself. If that does not help, sometimes when they push it through, it helps.
Nothing to be concerned about as this is SOP when your Data isn't working.
I have had it done a couple of times.
