apple creating app builders

haven't been to dennys in awhile and well as I sit here now watching they're new tv network on their new tv's, they have an ad come on about apple is now giving their customers a chance at creating apps for themselves or others with a kit designed just for it. the kit includes codes and whatever else is needed for app creating/building. interesting indeed. anyone else hear of such thing? thought id just pass the word.

I heard about this awhile back that apple would be working with stanford university to make this happen. I guess now its coming to fruition. seems like a cool idea. a lot of iPhone apps are simple web extensions. I wonder if the app builder will be limited to these kinds of apps.

on another note, I think the worst thing about the iPhone is that apple made it. to loosely quote horndoctor, apple seems to have the philosophy that they are leasing the iPhone to its customers, not selling them.

Apple has a definite history of bringing app building tools to its customers. Anyone remember Hypercard?

im kinda surprised microsoft would let apple do this kind of thing without a little competition. seriously! is microsoft just enjoying the a** ramming that apple is giving them? do they not check ppcgeeks or xda-developers? they're missing out if they aren't. there's some real talent on both of these forums. I mean I appreciate these free apps and rom upgrades but some of these guys need real recognition. there's some legit stuff here. plus winmo is way more customizable than the Iphoney. what can't we do with these things?
