Samsung Mondi UI walkthough

http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=4020

I'm not very familiar with Samsung's other device UIs but from what is shown in the video in the link above I think I like the direction their going. I really like the form factor of the Mondi device as well. That screen is a good size, for me, with the device not being overly bulky. I suppose I would use it more as PMP, but then a MID is an accurate description as well.

What do you think?

Looks interesting.

Only a 4 row QWERTY keyboard on it though.
You'd think with something that big already, they'd
put in atleast 5 rows like the Touch Pro has, or maybe
even more like a row of function keys.

The problem in my opinion is that this is still just a User Interface on top of the regular old windows mobile platform which I think needs a drastic overhaul. I'm not sure that wm 6.5 will cut it either. We'll see when wm 7 comes out (I have high hopes).

it seems you'd need a larger screen to take advantage of the features of the UI, or at least to make it finger friendly. I've heard that one of the negatives about the Samsung devices and their current UI is that there isn't enough room for the side bar and the widgets but I haven't used one so I can't say for certain.

Yeah I think I need a UI that goes out of landscape.

And as far as the other Samsung UIs, I like Touchwiz but there needs to be an sdk for user widgets. If it had that it would be great.

Atlanta is one of the three places it is coming to. Las Vegas, Atlanta and somewhere else.
