iPhone topples Windows Mobile in world sales

http://images.macnn.com/esta/content...iphone3g-2.jpg Apple's lone cellphone product line is already outselling the entire range of Windows Mobile devices worldwide, according to new Gartner data. The launch of iPhone 3G in the summer was enough to push Apple to 12.9 percent market share and was enough to unseat Windows Mobile both within the US and internationally. The company now holds third place in the world and is reportedly helped by Windows Mobile's comparatively poor user interface, which has hurt not only sales of the Microsoft-driven hardware but also the library of third-party apps.

an iphone running windows mobile would run slow. a windows mobile phone running an iphone wouldnt work since we dont have multi-touch on the screen. and you wouldnt be able to do all the cool stuff you can do on windows mobile ^_^

i see the iphone as a fun device that can do some things well, but when it comes down to it, i'd pick a winmo device over the iphone any day. ANY app that is made for the iphone, we could have that app as well. just noone cared to make it for winmo.

thats just my 2 cents though :-p

EDIT:

it would be fun to dual boot iphone and winmobile though, just have the iphone interface to play around with when your bored lol

sorry, for some strange reason when I move the page it paste my message but anyway what will it say for those other companies that uses WM? Will it be a different phone with the same features or will they just stop busisness with the other makers? What if HTC come out with a new phone and MS makes a phone, will they gave the same features cuz I would get a Htc ohone without windows.

Apple is worth 1/2 of what MS is. That is not small. Microsoft could not afford, nor want to buy Apple.
