HTC and Sprint Tele Sales Supervisor have both confirmed date. Also I believe this to be true because HTC would not have a where to buy link on site if release was not in near future.

Highly Unlikely. Here's HTC's word on the matter:

Availability
The HTC Touch Diamond™ will be available to customers across all major European carriers in June. It will be available later this quarter in Asia and the Middle East. The North American and Latin American versions of the Touch Diamond will be available in the second half of 2008.
"Our long-standing relationship with HTC meant they shared their phone concept and worked with us from the earliest stage. "Our approach is to select and test the best phones and integrate our applications, combining them with access to the Orange World portal, the best tariffs, integrated billing, a user-friendly interface and excellent customer support. With the Touch Diamond from Orange we have created a unique phone which has taken advantage of our latest service innovation to build upon the consistently rich experience customers expect from Orange."

In short we are getting the Diamond last, and from looking around it looks more like a October/November launch.

Seriously? Less than a month away and there is not some MAJOR fanfare from Sprint about it. I'd love it to happen, but it seems far-fetched.

I hope this is not the case I am only relaying info that i recieved not to say it is correct. The sprint supervisor stated that he was looking at a list of upcoming releases i guess we will wait a few weeks and see.

exactly, also, HTC's website says HSDPA enabled, which is GSM technology, not CDMA

yes i do see the HSDPA internet connectivity I jumped the gun from post on other sites and from talking to sprint and htc. looking around net it does seem that we will not see in the us anytime soon figures.

What I've been reading is that the Touch Pro will be released in September and the Touch Diamond in November; both on Sprint.

Since the HSDPA version of the Diamond will be released in June, I'm not looking for any offical information about the Touch Pro until August and the Sprint version of the Diamond until October.

haha a little far-fetched?? PLEASE its like damn near IMPOSSIBLE, cmon now.. lets remember that we are talking about HTC and SPRINT. we have yet to receive those "video driver updates" and i dont even have to get started on sprints "rom update situation" it seems almost every single time a date is set, its push back and further back.. we just found out about this phone around a week or 2 ago... do you really think it will come out before phones like the instinct and the wx 800 in which we've known about for a while now? get serious... i want the phone as bad as everyone else too bust its jus plain gullability to actually believe that it will be here in the US on sprint in less than a month. frankly im shocked anyone would believe such a thing. i say expect this phone sometime in the 4th quarter.. like november

it works out better for me if it comes out in october/november....then i can upgrade...that phone looks sick though i'm definitely on board..

hmmmm...thinks bout tha instinct and the diamond...still has my $150 rebate =] haha...decisions....more then likley gonna wait for tha diamond...

They are not including a microSD card slot, but giving it 4GB internal storage instead.

Currently, there is no information regarding which carriers will be offering the Touch Diamond. The Touch Diamond has a microSD card slot and supports SDHC technology.

yeah i feel you, but I really get sick of waiting....man i could switch to tmobile and get all the lastest and greatest devices, instead of waiting a year after the devices debut for the manufacturers to make CDMA versions, then wait for FCC approval, then wait for SPrint and Verizon to cripple them or mess them up..

CDMA is a love hate thing for me. Love the service compared to GSM, sprints plans own anything out, but we always get the rear end of smartphones.

By the time Sprint does decide to get off of the toilet with this shid and release it, it will be old.

Dam i want this phone...so bad...

Almost worth getting a tmob prepaid and buying the phone and still keeping my touch for high speed data....
