Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 Revealed
This might be my dream device:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/10/s...indows-mobile/ 800x480 screen (3" wide)! http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.en...e_124jan08.jpg |
Saw it on Engadget and Gizmodo. Looks SICK. The screen resolution is insane. This thing on SERO would be a dream come true.

yeah, shame its GSM

Video of i in action (allegedly). If it moves that smoothly, color me impressed. |
Yeah imagine when we rip that interface to run on other WM devices! @_@
|
Pretty wild looking. I'll have to check that video out. I've made a point in not looking at other phones since I purchased the Touch, so I wouldn't have 'buyer's regret' as the next latest thing came out. But this looks different...
|
Keep in mind, it is gsm quad band so probably will come to us, but be with at&t or tmobile. Nothing official yet. If you have the touch with sprint you would have to change carriers to get it.
If they came out with a cdma version, and it runs that well, I would throw my mogul out of the window of my truck. |
XPERIA comes with bigger surprise: WM 6.5!?
According to this blog's translation of this russian mobile-phone review site, the XPERIA is running on a new overhaul of windows mobile 6 called 6.5.
I don't know. Sources seem kinda iffy. I have to wonder if they aren't mistakenly talking about 6.1. |
wow, i haven't been this impressed since tivo...this baby is soo sexxy it could very well be wrong
|
Sony Ericsson a long time ago made a point of not making CDMA phones.. :( *sigh*.
But the video http://www.sonyericsson.com/x1/default.aspx?cc=gb& looks HAWT! i want... I'm half expecting to log onto ppc geeks one day and see a way to use GSM phones on Sprint... |

Nice phone.
If HTC make it, the buyers better make sure they get what they think they are getting. Just cause it says it can do all of that, how many features will HTC cut/hold back on. It seems they are holding back features from other phones, only to introduce them in later phones. Does anyone know if they use any of the same chipsets that the Titan use? I am also surprised no one has a dump file yet :) |
Sorry to burst your bubbles but this device is probably Japan market only. Thus the W-CDMA, GSM is just for raoming outside japan. Totally pisses me off. Japan and Korea are the only 2 countries that you can't roam in.

You can bet your ass Sprint wont get it. Sprint screws up every phone they get. Look at what they are doing to the Samsng F90? removing the keyboard an alot of other functions. Verizon is getting the good version

Re: Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 Revealed
I have been drooling over this phone the past few days. If either GSM carrier can get 3G rolling in my area I will be all over this device.

Re: Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 Revealed
not like it's really going to matter by the expected release date of 2/10/09. yup. a yr away according to their website.

It will be obsolete every where in a year, except here in the USA in a year. ;)

Glad to hear it's not true. |
Re: Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 Revealed
Engadget does follow rumors, but most news sites do. They try to stay away from it but a lot of credible information gets leaked from forums. Any real news site will post a link at the bottom of the article citing where it came from. Make sure you see where it came from before putting all your eggs in the basket.

Re: Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 Revealed
They're pretty good with correcting themselves when they find out they're wrong though, you got to give them that.

Re: Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 Revealed
It was a quick response. However you don't want people getting other devices because that one it too far out. Better to keep them waiting for the device.
