Why exactly can't the orginal Moto Q not run WM6.1?

I'm not a developer but I thought the chipset in the org. Moto Q and the 9C were the same. Why can't the Q run WM6.1? I haven't seen a kitchen for it even though most other phones get one.

Yeah I'm surprised too. The Sprint 6.1 ROM came out for the 9C today. I hope that maybe someone will cook it up for the original Q. Really all I want is the slick home page. I have Windows Live running on my org Q already and threaded SMS isn't really my bag.
