Exchange on non-standard port
I have been asked to configure a Droid phone to sync with an Exchange server, but OWA is not running on the default tcp/443 port. It doesn't look like Droid supports colon/port numbers in the server address, so I am not sure what to do here. Has anyone figured out a way of accessing Exchange on non-standard ports? Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

Re: Exchange on non-standard port
My understanding is this is a limitation with active sync in general.
There is no way I know of to make Active Sync use SSL over an alternate port, this is why front end servers need to have provisions to allow SSL traffic from the internet to the Exchange server. And it's also why most Exchange administrators configure it at the same location as the OWA (even though Active Sync doesn't use the OWA service to sync.) If anyone knows any different I'd be curious to know as well. |
Re: Exchange on non-standard port
has anyone found the solution for the non standard ports yet? I can access my corporate exchange server from an iphone with no problems simply by entering the :port number at the end of the server name but the verizon android will not allow this. There must be a way to connect this phone to an exchange server on a non standard port.
