Hmm, because you couldn't get something means everyone else is lying? Might want to rethink that statement.

When they run out, they are forced to offer something else. VZW did the exact same thing. Why do you think I'm typing this with my brand new free Droid 2?

Wife's lost her D1 4 days ago got on the Asurion site made my claim and it listed the Incredible and the Devour as replacements or i could put a D1 on back order. Did the back order and the next morning got a message saying they had them back in and was being sent out that day. Like stated above they have to offer you something else as a replacement and that's just your opinion that there not equal value.

they did the same thing with me, i was told there were not Droids in stock i could either take an lg or some other motorola phone. I told the rep i only wanted a droid even if i had to wait a couple of days to get it, next day after i called for my claim i got an email saying droids were in stock and to complete my claim.

I just got a Droid 1 replaced through Asurion the day after I placed the claim, despite their website saying it could take up to two weeks.

So, scammers? No, not really.
