Listening to FM radio on the Droid?

What's necessary?

Thanks.

not available, apparently the functionality is on the chip but its not supported nor can anyone else get it to work. I just read on droid life that 2.2 froyo is going to add support but there is a hardware issue with the droid.

I guess "Droid Doesn't" then.

What a disappointment.

Internet radio works just fine. I have never understood the fascination some people have with receiving FM on their phone. A built in FM transmitter would be nice. I never really understood the "Droid Doesn't" snarkiness either.

Ha! "There's a thread for that" - to borrow another snarky line, and corrupt it.

FM radio is useful. Plenty of people take their devices to the gym where they have transmitters set up for listening to the audio of the TV feeds. Also, internet radio *sometimes* will blank out when your favorite sports team is playing on normal radio. Don't get me started on the greed of NFL owners when it comes to the "internet rights" of their teams :angry7:

Finally, FM radio draws so much less battery power that it really is a compelling option.

But hey, it's just my $.02

The "TP2 Doesn't" either. LOL. I barely use the FM radio in my truck, much less on my phone.
If the FM radio is so important, the Incredible has one.

I can understand people using it, but this isn't the first time that someone has acted liked it was a deal breaking lack of feature.

Thank you.

My TP2 works fine now. I'm looking for reasons to jump to Android.

Fm radio would be a big reason for you to switch to android ?!?, how bout the fact that android works really well, apps are available and easy to get, and the interface blows the door off winmo
