i could use a hand please
 

so i had a brand new droid rooted and smoked glass rom....headphone jack goes so they send me a "like new" one and i follow this way to root http://www.droid-life.com/2010/02/26...-1-0-part-1-2/. so now for the past few days when i turn off my phone i have to reinstall rom form sd card...its driving me nuts...so i tried a 800 kernal and now i can restart my phone with no problems but i have lots of fc issues. how can i fix this?

I don't use droid mod, I rooted 2.1 then used rom managers to pick out of several possible roms

i also tried that with some problems...from the stb file can u just round up and tell me what u did to get it all good please

Hm. Not sure what you're looking for in a ROM, but I'm running Bugless Beast .9 at 1ghz with no problems. If I used koush's cyanogen I'd get loads of FC's and bugs. I'd just wipe/reset data a couple times, clear the cache, flash the ROM of your choice from Clockwork or SPRecovery and go from there.

I was running droidmod with no problems. When the ota 2.1 update was realeased I was having all sorts of problems. I don't know if the rom was screwy, an app I installed or if it was the release it self but it was very coincidental. I had to return the phone and got a new one. I did the ota update and have to say I dont mind it at all.

i cant get a damn thing to work righi flash and flash and if it isnt my market working then its my browser or maps or camara or phone. i can not tell u all how pissed off i really am. i just want a working rooted phone. please anyone help im about to do this (already done it once) and im hoping ti works http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/04...-with-a-catch/ any outher ideas would be great

ok so i went back to 2.0.1 and everything was running great...not one fc....i root with dm updater...and now i get all these fc....im so **cking annoyed i almost smashed my phone...i just want a rooted phone since i spent money on apps like set cpu. i dont get why this is happening and i would just like to slove this problem. please if anyone can figure this out it would be great if not im send this pos back to vzw and going with the tp2

Maybe you should exchange it for another one? Make up an excuse for it "not working" because I don't see why a simple root would make it go crazy. Because DroidMod is an old build and doesn't have a lot of the new features, it tends to run REALLY well. If a brand new flash of DM runs like ass, it almost certainly has to be your phone. :(

Did you try wiping the memory before you installed DMupdater? Not sure if it would make a difference or not, but worth a try before you smash your phone. I have had 3 replacements + the original and everytime I got a replacement, I would:
1.) install DMupdater
2.) open DMupdater and allow it to root and flash the recovery image
3.) install the nandroid backup from where I backed up my old phone
It has worked nicely every time. I make periodic backups just in case, so that I don't lose anything.
I sure hope that the 2.1 flash didn't leave something irreversible behind that screws with the software.

Oh ya if you haven't been wiping before installing roms that could DEFINITELY be your issue. Not wiping can cause ROMs to act pretty screwy.

I usually do a wipe twice when installing new roms. i've never had a problem and everything runs super smooth.

i got it to work muc h better i just di this http://www.droid-life.com/2010/04/05...t-android-2-1/ and now im all good im not sure what the deal was with dm updater but it was annoying. yes i did wipes all the time didnt really help...thanks for all the input everyone!!:headbang:

thank you but actully i spoke to soon](*,) iv been playing for days and this is the def info iv found....its not dm updater cuz im running on dm 1.0 right now with no force closes but if i install any rom besides that, it will work for a day or so and as soon as i restart the phone it just loops at the boot screen until i go into sprecovery and do a wipe. now after i do the wipe it will be fine for a day or so and then ill have to do a wipe again...its so annoying cuz id like to run redrum chaos. yes i do wipe before i install every time. idk im stumped so for now im just going to run dm 1.0 until i figure this out and thanks to all who have been helping me and sticking thru this.

so iv wiped a bunch of times on dm and even now i still get fc at times but every 2 days it starts freaking out and fc everything. the touch screen wont work and i have to do a wipe to get it to work....im starting to think its the phone and i should get a new 1
