Repeating notifications with screen off

My wife recently purchase the Motorola Droid and is trying to get multiple text/e-mail/call notifications (ie. she gets a text and doesn't hear the initial notification. She wants the phone to make a sound or the battery indicator to flash differently so she can notice she received a text with the screen off).

Any suggestions? Does any program do this (handcent)? Any helpful info would be appreciated (I have a PPC and it is natively included in the OS).

Look for a program called Missed Call for Android 2.0. Will repeat calls, SMS, appointments, and othe things.

Thanks Blazing wolf. I'll try it. Do I have to uncheck the OS's notifications to prevent double notifications?

I know you do with SMS notifications. Not sure about the others.
