help with droid

i got a motorola droid and it has a bad esn did some reading and saw that some people got it flashed to metro pcs so i went to metro and they told me they cant flash it cause its still a new phone is there a way i can do it manually or any ideas on how i can get it activated to metro ???? THANKS IN ADVANCE...
