Flash Player?
 

I have been out of the Droid game for a bit. Does anyone have any updates on Flash support for our device?

No flash yet. Supposed to be mid year or so for the official version. There is a Desire port in the works that has working flash but it looks real slow in the videos.

:word: what he said. I think our devices need to have 2.1 to run flash (but I'm not positive) and THEN we need to wait for Adobe to release it. Some believe that the version in the Desire port is an earlier version than what Adobe will be giving out, others think its the final version. Who knows though...

I've been keeping a close eye on the desire port thread at alldroid, but for my flash needs, would rather see skyfire get their browser out for android. We might see that before 10.1 finally comes.

i thought it was suppose to be sometime in spring they released flash for 2.1

Premature predictions are common thing i notice these days. Maybe just to get hits on a web site or create a little excitement but i heard that flash was coming on the 2.1 update. I remember the flash suport being available for android before the end of last year rumer and so i really don't believe any thing until adobe Motorola or Google announces a official statement.

Frankly, I'm not gonna get excited until I see it for myself. This whole 2.1 update announcements thing has really bothered me. From "insider information" to rumors to quotes from Motorola's official Twitter account, I have learned to not get my hopes up. Just be glad when it gets here and don't hype it up until then.

Flash isn't part of Android OS, nor is it part of the Motorola UI. So I doubt it will be included in the 2.1 update.

Flash was officially announced as coming second quarter of 2010, so I would expect it to arrive in late June.
