A few customizations things I would like help with

I just got a Droid, rooted it, flashed smoked v4.0 and am loving it.

I have handcent sms and it allows me to change the notification light, what I want to know is if there is any app to change the notification light for missed call, new email and new voicemail.

Also I have a email notification widget, and handcent that show the number of waiting messages on the widget. Is there a widget like this for voicemail?

Last, when the phone is on the dock and you take a call the screen doesn't rotate is there a way to make the call screen rotate?

I really love my droid and just want to do some of this customization, any way to do that?

I remember seeing an app in the market called Missed Call that supposedly offered color/vibration customizing based on types of calls and whatnot but I never tried it. Might work though.

Not sure about the voicemail notification.

Unfortunately there is no landscape version of the phone screen. I wish there was also. When using the car dock I try to keep it upright for this reason but on the desk dock there isn't much you can do :/

I probably didn't help too much haha sorry

+1 for "Missed Call", although when I tried it I had some F/C's related to it.

I've heard people talk about YouMail also but I've never tried it.

I know you didn't specify this... but similar widget to Handcent is Gmail Unread Count. 1x1 widget that shows how many unread/new messages in your gmail account. Also clicking it opens the gmail app. (you may like)

Thanks, yeah, I have that installed and I love it.

I have been pouring over the app store looking for cool stuff and have found sooooo much.

I am glad I switched from my Touch Pro 2.

I just really loved SPB mobile shell for WinMo, it was like the droid interface just with a launcher and contacts at the bottom of every screen, and no third party widgets.

SPB mobile shell rocks! I actually wish they would come out with a version for Android...I liked having more control over positioning, sizing, etc of stuff on my home screens.

That is what I loved about it so much.

You could overlap icons and widgets, could have a ton of different sizes to work with, basically you really could make it your own, you weren't just stuck with a 4x4 grid that everything had to fit on.

It SPB came out with a home screen alternative I would buy it without thinking.

Sweeterhome lets you customize things without being conformed to a grid. You can add scrollable panels of icons, text, messages, etc and change the size of anything, add images, etc. The learning curve is a bit high and it can take time to get everything exactly how you want, but if you give it time, you can make some REALLY cool homescreens. It's also free to try.

Rumor says they will be introducing a new version at MWC. Android is listed as an OS for this new version. Should be interesting to see if it comes out. :)

Haha, I was out of town for the weekend with no internet access and so I was reading up on tech news that I missed and then I see an article on Engadget talking about SPB Mobile Shell 5 announced for Android...I couldn't stop laughing since I just posted about how I wanted an Android version before the weekend. This is awesome!
