Multi-touch Maps with Night Mode ported to Droid
 

EDIT: Man, Google is fast. This is now available officially in the market! No need to go through any extra hassle :)

i checked the market earlier and it said i had no updates.....i checked again not even 5 minutes later and google maps had an update LOL It works really well
