How do I access my server from my Droid?

I would like to be able to save pictures from my Droid to my home server. How does one go about connecting via wi-fi to a server with the Droid?

I assume you are talking about something like a Windows Home Server machine? If so, hopefully someone around here has an answer because I haven't figured out a good way to connect via Wifi yet...

I don't think he's looking for instructions on how to do remote desktop. Sounds like he wants to know how to connect via wifi to transfer files back and forth.

If you are just looking to move files back and forth, I would suggest E Strongs File Manager. It is available on the market and is free. It has a LAN section where you can map a network drive and it works great. The only odd thing that I found was setting the map up. You cannot use the the common name given the share, you actually have to use the IP address followed by the share name, i.e. 192.168.1.100\shared_folder. Anyway, it works really good and is fast. Hope this helps.

I used to use that and it worked great with Windows Vista. Now that I've upgraded to Windows 7 it doesn't work anymore, it just won't make the connection. Any ideas as to why that would be?

I don't have a clue, I'm using W7 and it works fine.

Hmmm...maybe I'll have to give it a try again. Thanks for the info.

Make sure File Sharing is enabled and is being allowed through your firewall (if it is enabled) Let me know if you need further instructions. Try to test it from another PC to verify it is working.
