boot animation

I have an idea to do a boot animation with the attached image but don't have the tools/knowledge to create it. If some who does could help me in anyway it would be awesome. I was wanting to get rid of the random android body part squares and replace them with the rough gray ones consistent with the others....get rid of glare around his antenna and perhaps make the droid text pop a little more for the animation I was thinking that the individual boxes could fill in randomly one or two at a time until the final few frames would be the total image...let me know what you guys think...and how possible it would be. The image was found on the web I just want to alter it and turn it into an animation.

you'd probably have better luck to look for the original to remove the lense flare etc as that just looks like they took a image and added a few filters in paint shop pro

Re: boot animation

ok so I found a spinning 3d android man on youtube if you search for droid boot animation you will find him he has red eyes and there is a link to the file which I have but now is where I need the help I would like to take the stock droid spelling animation and overlay it on this man so that he would spin while the animation spells out droid but I don't know how to do it. I just want it to say the droid part not the eye part at the end...I know that i need to go in and overlay each part of the text animation over each little frame that he moves so that as he moves slightly the word will gradually appear but I don't know how to do it on my comp as I don't have photo shop or anything like that anyone can help would be great.

Re: boot animation

You could try GIMP. It's a free program very similar to Photoshop. Also, there was a thread over on Alldroid in the development section where the thread starter said he would do any boot animation you wanted. I'll see if I can find the thread.
