Pattern lock doesn't secure data.
Pattern based screen lock doesn't protect data. Very easy to bypass.
Simply call your phone. The whole time you are on a call the phone can be completely navigated including reading emails and SMS... just hit the back button when in the phone call screen. I know I've said it before, but get your phone on either an Active Sync server or on Mobile Defense (BETA) so that you can remotely wipe your phone. EDIT: This is a Motorola Droid only issue (2.0 based) |
Re: Pattern lock doesn't secure data.
I would be upset about this if I actually used the pattern lock.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.0.1; en-us; Droid Build/ESD56) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)
Well its a deal breaker for one of our clients as compliance requires all devices be locked to protect company data. We do email hosting. Just letting y'all know :) |

It probably is not a big deal for most. I think it is hilarious how much press this is getting from the gadget sites.
